My Story
In February this year, I was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer. Thankfully, I am now cancer free after undergoing surgery in March, followed by 15 rounds of radiotherapy.
From the very day I was diagnosed, Macmillan was there to support me. Their support continued throughout my treatment and is still there now as I adjust to life after cancer, including dealing with the ongoing side effects of taking daily hormone therapy for the next five years.
Cancer doesn’t simply end when treatment finishes. The physical and emotional impact can continue long after the last hospital appointment, and having access to support when you need it can make such a difference.
That’s why I’m fundraising for Macmillan — to help make sure that other people facing cancer don’t have to go through it alone.
