My Story

I am hosting a Coffee Afternoon in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan is 98% funded by voluntary donations and with your help they can deliver the vital support people living with cancer need – whoever and wherever they are.

As some of you may know, my husband Marc was diagnosed with adrenal cancer in May of this year. In June he underwent a long operation to remove a large tumour from his adrenal gland and has been recovering over the summer. On 21st September, he started his chemotherapy treatment which will be a 2-5 year treatment plan. This isn’t going to be easy but Marc is determined to fight this awful disease, along with the support of his family and friends, as well as charities such as Macmillan.

There are currently more than 3.5 million people living with cancer in the UK and this number is rising, with someone diagnosed every 75 seconds. But Macmillan is doing whatever it to takes to ensure that everyone gets the best care available.

They work with partners to provide services for people living with cancer at every stage of their cancer experience, including the Macmillan Support Line, award-winning cancer booklets, their Online Community, and Macmillan professionals.

Thank you for your kind donation. It really will make a difference! Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast, and secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to Macmillan Cancer Support.
