My Story
This Coffee Morning is incredibly close to my heart. 💚
My mum has already faced cancer once, 20 years ago, and now, all these years later, she is facing it for a second time. We watched her fight it then, and we know she is going to fight it with everything she has again now.
Sadly, cancer has touched our family more times than we would ever have wished. We have also lost my beautiful Nan and my Auntie Daphne to cancer, so raising money to support people and families going through this means more to me than I can really put into words.
Until cancer affects someone you love, I don't think you can truly understand the fear, worry and uncertainty that comes with it. It doesn't just affect the person going through treatment; it touches the whole family. And when you're living through those moments, having somewhere to turn for support, advice and simply knowing you're not alone can mean everything.
There are so many incredible charities and causes that deserve our love and support, so please don't ever feel pressured to donate. But sadly, I think most of us know or love somebody whose life has been affected by cancer.
The last time I threw myself into fundraising, I climbed Mount Snowdon at midnight AND cycled from London to Brighton. This time around, I've decided to choose something slightly more appropriate for the current physical state of my body 😂 drinking tea and eating cake feels much more within my capabilities!
So we're getting together, putting the kettle on, eating plenty of cake and hopefully raising as much as we can for Macmillan Cancer Support. ☕️🍰💚
Whether you donate, come along to our Coffee Morning, share our page, or simply send some love and support, thank you. It genuinely means so much to me and my family.
Here's to my Mum, my Nan, my Auntie Daphne, and every single person and family who has ever had to face cancer. 💚
Let's raise a cuppa to them all.
