My Story

Cancer is something that touches so many of our lives, whether we are facing it ourselves or supporting someone we love. As hairdressers, we are privileged to hear people’s stories every day from the comfort of our chairs — stories from those going through cancer treatment themselves, as well as those caring for or grieving a loved one. It is a reminder that cancer can affect anyone, at any age, and that behind every diagnosis is a person, a family and a story. At Urban Studios, we want to use our platform within our community to contribute to this incredible cause and hopefully make a real difference. This one is particularly close to my heart, as I have personally been affected by cancer and will be donating in memory of my Dad, Arthur Bleakley. 💚

I am proud to be hosting a Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday 25th September 2026, raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan is 98% funded by voluntary donations, and with your support they can continue providing vital help to people living with cancer, whoever and wherever they are. There are currently more than 3.5 million people living with cancer in the UK, with someone diagnosed every 75 seconds, and that number continues to rise. Macmillan works tirelessly to ensure everyone affected by cancer can access the best care and support available, from their Support Line and award-winning cancer information, to their Online Community and Macmillan professionals. Every donation, no matter how big or small, can make a difference. Thank you for supporting us and helping Urban Studios give something back to a cause that means so much to so many 💚☕️🎂

If you can’t make our Coffee Morning but would still like to support us, we would be incredibly grateful for a donation through our JustGiving page. Donating is simple, fast and secure, and your money will go directly to Macmillan Cancer Support.
